Did the UK Metrication Association lie? You decide

The British Weights and Measures Association's John Gardner's excellent report and expose reveals that all is not what it seems with the UKMA's denials that they did not lobby the European Commission with regard to the phasing out of imperial measures.
Seems like the UKMA's Chairman, Mr. Robin Paice has some explaining to do.
It all unravels for him here

Neil, I wish the police had half your investigate skills - then perhaps they might "solve" some of the "petty" crime that's everywhere nowadays and makes people's lives such a misery.

Onto the subject - I suppose they would claim that Mr Paice acted as an individual - not on behalf of UKMA - and it was a (natural?) mistake to think he was acting for the UKMA (wonder if UKMA letterheaded paper was used?). Either way all Mr Paice is doing is carrying on pro-EU extremists' traditional prediliction for being shady, deceitful and dishonest.

Ha ha, shafted! Good old Freedom of Information Act, the government really didn't know what they were letting themselves in for when they introduced it did they?
