More Malice in Blunderland

Yet again the council looks for a fine solution.
First you create the business park ... but don't create enough parking provision nor do you ensure that there is adequate public transport.

Do you encourage or incentivise car sharing?

Do you apply pressure to transport operators to increase the frequency of the bus services?

Do you look to create a satellite car park with interlinking shuttle buses?

No. Its a lot simpler than that. You fine people for taking their cars to work who are then forced to park on public roads.

When the businesses cannot retain staff fed up with being fined they will look to relocate elsewhere, where a local authority has a little more vision that this one. Let's hope they have this Traffic Order correct.

Fines to curb problem parking
Lines of parked cars at Doxford International.

TOUGH measures are in place to put the brakes on problem parkers clogging up residential roads around Doxford International with drivers facing fines.
Residential areas near the business park were plagued with parking chaos after call centre employees were forced to leave their cars there all day because of a lack of parking at work. The business park is the biggest on Wearside and is home to more than 5,000 workers, but provides only half the amount of spaces.
