Yet another local authority exposed as having unlawfully worded PCNs. This time we exposed Sandwell on Adrian Godberg's BBC Breakfast Show.
Unfortunate Sandwell have already attempted to pursue Robin Decrittenden but have suspended enforcement pending the outcome of the Judicial Review on the Bill of Rights challenge.
However, now that we have exposed the fact that their PCNs do not contain a date of issue within the main body of the PCN (thereby failing to conform with Section 66(3) of the 1991 Road Traffic Act) it does mean that everyone can successfully appeal on that point alone.

Went to West Bromwich (Sandwell) to pick up a package from a Wilkinson's store there, staff advised me at the time that the package would arrive within the hour, i was parked on the Wilkinson's drive, and the staff said that it would be ok to stay there untill said package arrived, unfortunately, when their vehicle arrived, my package was not on it, was advised to go the next day to pick it up, when i went back to my car, there was a parking ticket on it from Sandwell borough council for £60, but if payed promptly, would be reduced to £30, i complained to the parking office, and they reviewed it, and said that i had to pay it, i paid it reluctantly, not wanting the hassle, as i had, at that moment, a little trouble in my life, anyway, have overcome that now, and it still rankles me, being a pensioner, i can little afford things like that, i've often wondered wheather what they did was unlawful, as i think i was on on private land, namely, "Wilkinson's"
Brian Hickman.
