With Robocop Ray Mallon up against Graham Robb of the No Campaign.
Mr. Mallon led off with the Tory NESNO Campaign stuff and then into the lying staff at the NESNO UKIP Preston call centre, and finished off with the statement that an assembly could cut crime with zero tolerance policing.
Graham Robb did well in the onslaught by staying composed and looking like the victim of a crime BUT where was the box of Milk Tray?
What was very clear was that there was nothing from Mallon other than rhetoric and the attack on the messenger.
Nationally, Roger Knapman (UKIP Leader) was head to heead against Prescott after the Tories declined the invitation. Bizarre? I would have thought that it was an ideal opportunity for the Conservatives to use the national platform to beat up Prescott, but it was not to be, and the debate was neither something or nothing.
Not long to go....

It was obvious that the governmental machine would stoop to naked tribalism, gutter level politics and sneering at anyone who dare to object to its plan. Independent Mayor, Ray Mallon should be encouraged to look up the word "Independent" in the dictionary.
If someone happened to drop down from outer space (Prescott aside!)and listened to the remarks aimed at Conservatives/Conservatism they would probably think they were all linked to mass genocide or carried the plague...or both. Do they have a case for blatant prejudice against a section of society, a minority it could be said?
What is more obvious is the fact there's nothing on offer for the North East, other than for the self-serving politicians who are shouting the loudest, and shouting down to the rest of us mere mortals, who must at all times do as we are told.
Is this really democracy...
It's just another form of "hate speech", but not within any of the categories that New Labour has chosen to define for legal purposes. Still, as the Tories are too dim to see that, or having seen it are too gutless to speak out against this PC ligature which is strangling our long-cherished tradition of freedom of speech, I'd be inclined to say that they deserve all they get.
UKIP are useless. One branch in the North East, a deadweight leader and they are still trumpeted as big hitters in the North East. At least Neil learned that lesson at the time of the metric martyrs!
