News just leaked from down south ( well at least a little further south than here) that NCP are sending their cavalry to the North.
Currently 4 PAs on-street today and only three available tomorrow...and ticket numbers are down by a massive amount ... but hey, this is not about tickets and revenue as we are repeatedly told, it is about safer streets and free flowing traffic. Well, I have just been out around the town and there are no blocked streets, traffic is flowing freely and the place is functioning.
It seems that a team of highly trained NCP Parking Attendants is on the way from Preston ready to hit the streets running on Monday.
Wonder where they are gonna park?
We will see if the story is true on Monday.

Is this another case of the South of England trying to impose its will on the northern regions?
I would urge all motorists to find an incorrectly marked parking bay, yellow line or any other area that these “Gestapo” PA's frequently like to illegally ticket and park there cars there on Monday.
Only by hitting NCP and Sunderland Council where it hurts (in there bank account) will common sense be returned to the streets of Sunderland.
I never thought i would say these words, but “give parking back to the police to enforce”. Whilst the individuals responsible for enforcing parking restrictions can financially benefit from the tickets issued, only greed and mayhem can rain
“give parking back to the police to enforce”
