New Speed Camera illegal? Bigger implications?

New speed cameras could be ruled illegal

The latest generation of speed cameras which record number plates and take pictures of drivers could be illegal, a Government watchdog has warned.
Sir Andrew Leggatt, the Surveillance Commissioner, has said that new laws are needed to prevent the evidence the cameras provide from being successfully challenged in the courts.

Here's an idea to ponder: even if you are taking pictures of the fronts of cars, there's still one class of people who you're not going to get a useful photo of: islamic women wearing veils.

So, what happens here, then?

Do you try to legislate to stop people wearing face-obscuring garments in cars? This likely conflicts with the rights to freedom of religion, if the veil cannot be shown to be dangerous (obscuring of vision) to drive in.

Thiscould get very, very interesting indeed.
