Another 'Usual Suspect' Joins Gravy Train Queue

Ex-Euro MP backs assembly cause
Sunderland Echo
30th July
Former North East Euro MP Dr Gordon Adam has thrown his hat into the regional assembly ring.
Dr Adam, who retired from the European Parliament this year after 25 years, said he would be helping with the Yes assembly campaign.

The postal vote for the assembly is due in mid-October, with the result to come on Thursday, November 4.

Dr Adam said: "Looking around Europe, the strong regions are not run by national civil servants. We need to bring decision-making back to the North east.
"It is the only way we can hope to close the prosperity gap, so I am backing the Yes campaign.
"An elected assembly can and must be the springboard to the future for the people of the North East."
NH. Why am I not surprised that Dr. Adam wishes to join a Gravy Train closer to home. So much for an Assembly made up from 'new' faces.

Joyce Quin MP is standing down at the next election hoping to take up a lead Assembly role.

Sir John Hall naively thinks that political parties will step aside to make way for a wave of independents.

The same Sir John who advised everyone in Newcastle and Gateshead to vote Labour.

The same Sir John whose other utopian dream was to merge Gateshead and Newcastle to create 'Tyneside City.'

Dr. Adam's statement of intent will surely make the Yes Campaign cringe as this was precisely the scenario, "the usual suspects," that they were desperate to avoid.
