We will wait for Lisa's answers. Don't hold your breath

Newcastle Journal
Letters 4th August

Questions over idea that assembly could help.
Lisa Campbell (The Journal, Letters, August 3) states that an assembly will be able to help small businesses I would appreciate some clarity and the answers to the basic questions below:

Will an assembly be able to give grants to businesses?
If so how much and on what basis and where will the money come form?

Will an assembly be able to set aside any EU regulations?
If so, which ones?

Will an assembly be able to create rent and rate free zones?
If so where and for how long and where will the money come from?

Will an assembly have the power to close down some of the 200 agencies?
If so, who pays the redundancies?

Pretty direct and simple question. I look forward to Lisa’s response.

Unproductive bureaucrats and further tax burdens
Lisa Campbell wrote: An "elected assembly will be able to help small businesses". I am surprised she ignores how the Federation of Small Businesses has repeatedly and soundly rejected all forms of further control by the European Union over there already over regulated businesses.

The regionalisation of Britain is a long held goal of the EU and will add nothing but further unproductive bureaucrats and further burdens for taxpayers. How adding more parasites to the "200 agencies that provide assistance to small businesses in the region" will help is anyone’s guess.

I would recommend all those in the North East to send a clear "No" to the politicians at the time of the referendum.
