It's not just the streets that have no names...its also the detractors

Another anonymous poster, this time believed to be a Council and not an NCP official. They hide behind anonymity in a desperate attempt to give an opinion contrary to the one put forward. What is clear to the Echo readers is that the lack of transparency as to the posters identities gives the impression that this is a 'rebuttal' or 'damage limitation operation' by those desperate for the full facts and implications not to come out.
Ordinary members of the public do not write such letters. Our years of campaigning has shown this. During the regional assembly debate we outed many 'undercover elephants' but at least in those instances they actually gave a name but 'forgot' to put their pro-assembly connections.
However, the Sunderland Council / NCP rebuttal unit is not quite so subtle...they just refuse to give any name, although the Sunderland Echo does have the names of the actual letter writers.
But the Sunderland public are not gullible and letters such as the one below merely add fuel to the fire that the regime is in serious trouble.

My ticket not void
ONCE again you devoted considerable space to Mr Herron's "legal" views on parking enforcement (Wednesday, February 8).
The issue was a very technical one about the lack of "date of issue" on a parking ticket and Mr Herron's view that lack of such a date required the council to embark on mass repayment.
Having received such a ticket I can tell you that an adjudicator concluded that failure to state the date of issue on a penalty charge notice (a parking ticket to you and me), rendered the notice capable of being successfully appealed.
The adjudicator did not conclude that such a notice was void. Thus mass repayment would be inappropriate.
I hope that's cleared that up once and for all.
