BBC and an Assembly agenda? Surely not

Well, surprise surprise, the BBC now seems to be embarking on a campaign to get us all excited about regional assemblies.
Just three days after the landslide rejection of the elected version up pops a special section on the BBC Online website telling us how the voters can get involved in "your" regional assembly.

As far as the North East is concerned we have already exposed unelected North East Assembly for misusing public money to campaign for an elected version. The public has rejected the idea and therefore the unelected one has no legitimacy. It is a voluntary body funded by 'voluntary' subscriptions from local authorities...and therefore ratepayers. Once the North East ratepayers find they have been duped by Prescott's political con trick there will be an even bigger political price to pay...watch this space.

...oh, and this was the same BBC who found four impartial members of the public to listen to the debate and arguments from Yes (at the Director's Box at Newcastle United, drinking Bollinger and enjoying full corporate hospitality) and No (in a bare room at the Baltic with not even the offer of a coffee or a glass of water) in the weeks leading up to the referendum and monitored their voting intentions.
they ALL, BBC reported, were voting Yes!
