Sunderland Council's parking regime in meltdown

Just when they thought things couldn't get any worse for Sunderland City Council and NCP's unlawful parking regime this photograph and report appeared in the local press. It is not quite clear who the registered keeper of the pushchair is, but under the legislation the baby could not be held responsible. ;-)

Parking Prankster gives pram a ticket

An empty pram was slapped with a parking ticket while sat on a city centre street.
But this is not the work of merciless traffic wardens - it is pranksters at play.
The original ticket had been ripped from its plastic casing and stuck to the blue pushchair, parked on the pavement in Frederick Street.
A council spokesman said it was the work of a "prankster" who had risked losing the £30 he would have saved by paying the ticket early.
Onlookers said the pushchair was whisked away by council workers once they started cleaning up the city centre.
